Austin, Texas has everything you need to have a good time.  Music, beer, BBQ and over 80 stages will be rocking it for five days for the annual SXSW Music Festival when it kicks off tomorrow. I’m heading down there to cover the madness so check KROQ.com for updates, rock shots, shots of BBQ, shots of beer and shots of shots.

During the festival downtown Austin closes it’s major roads to cars…

…so that drunk music fans and industry folks can walk the streets checking out band after band after band without getting run over.

KROQ and The Roxy have an awesome showcase of bands from Los Angeles performing at Rusty Spurs Saloon on Thursday night.

I’ll be rocking it with Tom Morello and Boots Riley when [lastfm]Street Sweeper Social Club[/lastfm] hits the stage.  Justin and Adam from [lastfm]She Wants Revenge[/lastfm] will be there plus great bands I play on KROQ Locals Only like [lastfm]Crash Kings[/lastfm], [lastfm]Carney[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Saint Motel[/lastfm].

You never know who will be a break out band after SXSW. Last year, I caught [lastfm]The Temper Trap[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Passion Pit[/lastfm] before they blew up. Check out my video recap from last years SXSW.
