UPDATE

While I wait for someone to slip me the official press release from Myspace President Courtney Holt on the status of the label, word from the inside is that the label will no longer function as it once was with radio promo, A&R etc. and will most likely morph into something else perhaps a digital marketing outlet.
It will be interesting to see if their partner company Interscope absorbs their current roster of artists. Isn’t it fun to speculate? Check out our nifty photo gallery of the artist who have passed through Myspace records. I think you should view it while listening to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”

Word is creeping out that they are letting their staff go.
The label has released music from Pennywise, Nico Vega, Meiko, Kate Voegele and Mickey Avalon just to name a few.
No word yet on the status of their current artists and if this is just downsizing or a complete shut down of the label.
